About Owasco Lake:
Owasco is located in New York's beautiful Finger Lakes region, 4.5 hrs. outside of New York City. Nearby Cities and Villages include: Auburn, Skaneateles, Syracuse, Aurora, and Ithaca.
Owasco Lake is 11.1 miles long, with a maximum width of 1.3 miles. The lake reaches a maximum depth of 177 feet and has a surface elevation of 712 feet above sea level, controlled by a dam on the lake's outlet. The lake has a volume of 212 billion US gallons and drains a watershed of 208 square miles.
The city of Auburn is located at the northern end and takes its drinking water from the lake. The lake lies entirely within the boundaries of Cayuga County, and the watershed boundary includes portions of Onondaga County and Tompkins County. Located at the south end of the lake is the hamlet of Cascade, which consists of a community of cottages, a marina, and a restaurant.

Water Level: Owasco lake’s water level is controlled by a dam on the lake's outlet known as the Owasco River that drains Owasco Lake at Auburn from its wastewater treatment plant and flows into the Seneca River.
Drinking Water Supply: Owasco lake is the drinking water supply for the Town of Owasco and City of Auburn.
Boating: Owasco lake allows motor boats
Marinas: There are two marinas on Owasco lake, currently known as Southshore Marina and Owasco Marine.
Fishing: If you love to fish, Owasco lake offers a variety of species in the lake including trout, salmon, bass, pike, perch, bluegill, sunfish, bullhead, pickerel, and walleye.
Fishing Dock: A public fishing dock is located on the Owasco Inlet.
Dog Park: A lakefront dog park is located on Owasco Lake at Emerson park.
Canoe Launch: A public canoe launch is located on the Owasco Inlet.
Boat Launch: A public boat launch is located at Emerson park.
The Pier: A public pier is located at the foot of Owasco lake at Emerson park. The pier is absolutely beautiful!
Beach: Public swimming is available at Emerson park’s public sandy beach.
Restaurants Nearby: There are three restaurants near by known as Drifters, Springside’s Oak n Vine, Seb’s Green Shutters, Tom Thumb.
Lakefront Bar & Restaurant: Drifter’s lakefront restaurant has docks and accommodates boaters.
