The Fairfield Estate - 7078 E Genesee Street, Fayetteville, NY 13066, Town of Manlius
The Fairfield Estate is a one-of-a-kind masterpiece on 4.5 acre grounds with more than 12,000-square-feet of living area that is sure to captivate you, it has received several upgrades and additions during its history. It was built between 1864 and 1875 by Nathaniel Gillett, a local business investor and gentleman farmer, who hoped to breed horses, grow hops, and raise vineyards there. In 1900, it was purchased by a New York City native who became a prominent Syracuse attorney, Andrew S. White, whose uncle was first president of Cornell University. The White's maintained a Ritz Carlton residence in Paris and a private residence condo at The Plaza Hotel in New York City. He and his wife, Claire Alcee, a concert signer, filled the house with treasures, art, statues, and hunting trophies. White’s library was personally designed by Gustav Stickley and Theodore Roosevelt was a frequent guest in the house and close friends with Andrew White. The estate is located in Manilus, adjacent to Lyndon Golf Course and across the street from Onondaga Country Club. A bed-and-breakfast establishment to be permitted upon receipt of a use permit granted by the municipality.
